Samhain (sometimes spelled Samain) is an ancient Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It was believed that the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead was at its thinnest — a time when spirits could roam the earth. Samhain is often known as the Celtic New Year, a time of release, renewal, and fresh beginnings.

You are warmly invited to Barton Yurt to celebrate the ever-changing seasons, honour your lineage, and reconnect with your inner nature.

Retreat Flow

• 10:30 AM – Arrival & settling into the Yurt

• 11:00 AM – Opening Circle & Cacao Ceremony
  Sip ceremonial cacao to open the heart and ease into sacred space.

• Light Seasonal Snack

• Grounding Yoga Practice – gentle, restorative flow

• Hearty Lunch – nourishing seasonal foods

• Sound Bath Ceremony – deep relaxation and vibrational healing

• Closing Sauna – wood-burning sauna for cleansing & restoration (optional)

What to Bring

• A small item for the ancestral altar (photo, crystal, token, or something that honours your lineage)

• Comfortable clothes for yoga and ceremony

• Swimwear/towel if you wish to enjoy the sauna

Contraindications

Cacao:
Depending on dosage, SSRI antidepressants and antipsychotics are not compatible with the MAOIs in cacao. Low–average doses are usually fine, but if you are on higher doses please reduce your intake and consult your doctor.

Sound Healing:
Not suitable for those with a pacemaker, metal implants, recent surgery (within 3 months), or during the first trimester of pregnancy.
